I knew I'm really born in the wrong era! I watched many romantic comedies before, with young, handsome actors, pretty, sexy actresses, but "Something's Gotta Give" is juz different! It's like seriously, I get really bored after a while for quite a number of romantic comedies... but sumhow, this show is 3 files big, a little more than 2 hours in total, and I'm not a teeny tad bit bored.
In "Something's Gotta Give", you have actors and actresses age almost 20 over years older than the typical ones u see in romantic comedies these days... Jack Nicholson and Diane Keaton. They're cute! And although Jack Nicholson is balding, has white hair and a big pot belly, he's still a cute old man! And Diane Keaton has wrinkles, but is sexy in her own way! Oh man... if every women can grow old as gracefully and beautifully as her, I guess aging is not such a scary thing afterall... she's really very pretty for her age.
They are such a cute pair... It's the same kind of difference in feeling you get when u see an old couple holding hands and a young couple holding hands. And come on... any show that has Keanu Reeves in it is good. Even if the plot sucks, as long as he's in it, the show's HOT! He's hotter and cuter than Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt added together anytime! Haha... seriously, this time it's a double bonus, Keanu Reeves is whopping HOT, and the shows good... as in GOOOOOD.
And so far, out of all the shows I've downloaded and watched, namely:
- Win a Date With Tad Hamilton
- How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days
- 13 Going on 30
- Uptown Girls (not that much of a romantic comedy)
- Bring it on Again
- Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen
- (I'm not sure if I only watched so few shows, but if I did forget to list something else, it just shows that whatever I forget to list, is not worth to even be listed)
Only "13 Going on 30" can be on par with "Something's Gotta Give". And I do hope that the shows I'm downloading will be getting better...

Met up with Ning today after she finally ended her 6 months long attachment at Ritz Carlton. Ning's another of my Cedar fren whom I can not meet for veri long and still have lots to tok abt when we meet up! Watched Madagascar today...
"I like to move it move it, I like to move it move it, I like to move it move it. You like to MOVE IT!"Then I made her tell me all abt her "tao hua yun" over lunch and dinner... and she was saying that she realized something after doing her 6 months attachment at Ritz... The guys that follow the "traditional" education path in S'pore are not as street-wise, matured and definitely not gentlemanly, compared to those who actually "fall off" the system. The system meaning our usual "pri sch, sec sch, jc, ns, uni" system. She said when she was in JC, the guys walk through the door SHE opened for her girl frenz... in Ritz, every single guy there, young or old, treats her the way any woman would wan to be treated. She carry a heavy crate, someone will come to her rescue in seconds, end work too late, someone will send her home. And she told me that seriously speaking, all those working there majority are those whom have "fell off" the traditional education system. Which I cant argue obviously... judging from the way I'm complaining and lamenting abt how pathetic and ungentlemanly uni guys are.
So, what is it about our education system that shapes the best in studies, into the worst in character? Before we went home Ning accompanied me to Popular, I wanted to buy stamps and stickers for my cute new tuition kid. Ning said I should really be a teacher since subconsciously I'm already inclined to that field. I guess you would be too, if you'd been born into a family in which you have pri sch teachers, sec sch HODS, VPs, poly lecturers, and a grandfather who used to be a principal in his times. Maybe I really should just prepare myself into that path... somehow cant seem to imagine myself in any other occupation. Hmm... which means I should major in English instead of Soci... but pple lyk Liza will probably slap mi left right centre to discourage me frm doing so. Damn... I really have no idea wad to major!!!
Staying over at Ning's next week... and we can spend the entire night updating each other on ALL we've missed... especially our past crushes. We used to know everything abt each other's crushes!!! We even give them nicknames together! Oh dear... I miss those days in Cedar...

Went shopping with Jo today! Bought a white skirt from This Fashion, a blue top from Mango, and a DVD and a VCD... both of which are classics!!! Remember last time I was saying that whenever I try to search for "best romantic comedies" online, the one that appear in most of the websites is "When Harry Met Sally". And I tried downloading it before I found out my comp is infected with 90 over viruses (but no worries... I'd rebooted the whole thing and I'm virus-free now!). The size is so big, more than 700MB, which means it cant fit into a cd. And today I found it! Hidden in the bottom-most shelf, at one corner of a music store... it even had a thin layer of dust on it.
So excited... I'd read so many good reviews on this 1989 movie... and boy am I glad to own it now. Going to watch it one of these days... ooooooh.... And for the other show, it's none other than the origins of the famous quote, "Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're going to get". Yes... the 1994 hit Forrest Gump. Even my mother knows the show... how can I not be part of it??
Jo thinks I'm born in the wrong era... I tink so too. I always seem to prefer the oldies to the modern. English and chinese oldies are my all time favourite, I tink the older singers are the ones who have the really good vocals and the real power for singing, I tink young singers cant sing for nuts. I tink the older actors/actresses are the ones who can really act, the young ones just win by their looks. Even my dressing is sometimes too mature for my age... or so I was told by my frenz. But I'm not into retro clothes... thank goodness. Haha....

Received an sms frm dear Wendy today about her birthday party... this is a bad year I tell u... everyone is turing 21 and there's so many celebrations to attend to. First, let me share my personal view on birthday celebrations...
Went to Laura's bday party today at her place, she invited her pri sch frenz, her sec sch frenz, JC fren (which is us!) and all her relatives. The 3 of us, Jo Cryst and mi, went there, said hi to her, gave her present etc etc. Then she brought us up to tour the house. She brought us to see her room, and inside she alr have a group of frenz sitting there talking. Then she brought us up to the attic, her group of frenz followed us to tour. Mind you... they may be my fellow Cedarians frm the same batch but I know none of them... our classes are at 2 ends of the level.
After that we went down to take our food, and the 3 of us juz sat pathetically at the dining table eating and talking among ourselves while poor Laura tries her very best to go around entertaining everyone. And seriously... for most of the time there, the 3 of us had our butts stuck firmly on that 3 chairs at the dining table. And even when cutting cake, each of her different groups of frenz take turns to go take photo with her... sing song every group stood at their own "territories" and sang.
And then I told them I wun wan to have my birthday in this way... it's juz so weird! I mean, I may feel ok, I may be really happy to have all my friends celebrating my 21st bday together with me... but now that I've experienced it, I know each different group will feel really weird and isolated in the party itself. Haven thought of a better way though... sorry that Cryst will have to forgo her poolside party idea for me... haha. At most I'll just meet each different group individually.
I mean seriously... not every person in your party will want to see everyone else at your party rite? That's something to really be taken into serious consideration...

Went to have my laptop repaired today... bad bad bad experience... the woman on my comp, then on the desktop, facing her boldly... are icons names "Limewire", "Divx Player", etc etc. And she asked me do I do usually do any downloads, and since I'll be lying thro my teeth if I say no, so I reluctantly said yes. And she continued, " alot?" And I said," Er... ok lar". Anyone could tell what a big fat liar I am. So to my fellow pirates out there... PLEASE try to take very good care of your computer so that you'll not need to send it for repairs and have to be forced to admit ur pirate deeds...
Accepted a pri sch tuition assignment today... usual pri sch market rate $15/hr. My mum said I shouldn't have took it up becoz it's quite tough to give tuition 2 days a week... but heck la... I'm DESPERATE. Juz a mere $180 a month is barely enough for my spending habits... but at least I can take $180 less of my dad's money. Anw rotting too much at home will only make me feel more and more lyk a slob. 1.5hrs each time is pretty easy I guess... and this time I wun be as nice as my last tuition job... 2 hrs each session I always leave half an hr later than the allocated time. STUPID! (With Tabi's way of saying it!) Anw Tab said pri sch is easy money... juz go there let them do assesment book and time will pass very quickly. Haha...
Going for Laura's birthday party tmr... so fun! I love birthday parties! Can dress prettily and eat like pigs!!! I love being a gluttonish pig! Went for sushi buffet yesterday wif Tab, tmr gg for birthday party, going for Sakura buffet with Jo... Life is gooood....

BLOODY HELL! My laptop got problem! Major problem... apparently everytime I on it, it will run smoothly until it reaches the desktop page, then my mouse cant press on any icons, anything. Something like a "hang", juz that the bloody mouse still can move, and it's the only thing that can move. How am I going to continue my life when half of my life depends on my comp!?!
Using the outside computer now... and this comp is not any better (but at least I can blog!). Apparently this outside comp CANNOT access ANY yahoo pages AT ALL. You type the yahoo homepage add, it will auto divert into another page. And for pple who know me... half of my internet activities is on yahoo! Yahoo auctions and yahoo mail (3 diff accounts). Damn Damn Damn irritating. And now I cant even update my shop cos all the files are on my laptop! I really regret being such a smart aleck and not create backup for my files, as in saving them in removable disks.
Mum said I should bring it down to the Fujitsu service centre for repairs, since it's still under warranty. But I'm SO scared they'll need to reboot the whole system and everything will be gone! All my shop folders will be gone, all my precious movies, all my many many pictures and many many more...
If that happens I should just go kill myself.

I'm Back!!!
Once I stepped out of the plane last nite I told my sis I never knew how sweet the air in S'pore smells like. Home sweet home! Not that I'm suffering there in China... ok I DID suffer... the food is really not to my liking, especially this time we travel the Xinjiang, Silk Road way, I eat bbq lamb till I wan to puke liao... so bloody heaty... and I hate vegetables! I took this pic from the plane... yes, confirm, I am really going to be stuck in the vast desert for 2 whole weeks!
Crude Oil Mountain. Guess the time this foto is taken... 10.00pm aka 2200.
And there's the pure natural untreated crude oil pool... they have many of these at that place...
Red sky in the evening... sun start to set at 2230.
That's the "Mo Gui Cheng"
Moon bend river... pretty sceneries...
Reached "Kanase" at around 10... love the environment we're staying in... like fairy tale liddat... but the inside facilities suck... I dun even dare to bathe at night, it gets so damn bloody cold up there on top of the mountain...
Doesn't it look so fairytale-like?? We're staying in those little houses...
These are mongolian houses... in chinese they call it "Meng Gu Bao". That's where they live in...
And that's the interior of the mongolian houses...
My sister
And again...
This is really hilarious... took these fotos when climbing up this mountain...
You see a coke bottle...
But that's not coke!!! It's their own imitation of the brand... and if people dun see carefully they also wun realise... haha...
Great dandelions you dun see in S'pore...
Sheeps grazing the grassland...
You're black, I'm white
Secret shot of my "da-yi" taking foto of my mum and my "er-yi"
My mum on the horse
Me on the horse
My sis on horse
My "da-yi" on horse
My "er-yi" on horse
My dad on horse
The sheepish army moving on the road...
Bee boxes in the middle of a mountain... they sell fresh wildflower honey, pollen and royal jelly. No preservatives.
My dad bargaining with the sellers. In the end we bought 7 bottles of honey, 3 bottles of royal jelly and one bottle of pollen. The pollen sucks I tell u... tasted it and almost puked...
Took this from our coach window... see that tiny van in the pic? That's how the vehicles travel there, just right at the edge of the mountain cliff...
Artistic shot taken by my dad... I LOVE this picture!
The artistic position... haha...
My dad climbing up the hill...
My dad with glaciers in the background
That's our coach, in the middle of nowhere...
Me and my sis. I din noe we'll be coming up here today so I'm the only one who din change to shoes... which means I'm standing in the midst of the snow in sandals.... damn cold...
Having maggi mee in the center of the snow mountain... damn shiok...
Damn tired after climbing half of this mountain...
Actually there's many many more places I went, but most of the time I was too lazy to bring my digital cam with me down the coach... so the complete journey is captured in my dad's traditional cam instead... haha.

I remember my GP teacher Miss Lee showing this story last time in JC... and I remembered there was this heart wrenching feeling at the end of the story... and even now when I read it, I still get the same feeling... A really wonderful story...
THE GIVING TREE by Shel Silverstein
Once there was a tree...
And she loved a little boy.
And everyday the boy would come and he would gather her leaves and make them into crowns and play king of the forest. He would climb up her trunk and swing from her branches and eat apples.
And they would play hide-and-go-seek.
And when he was tired he would sleep in her shade.
And the boy loved the tree...very much.
And the tree was happy.
But time went by.
And the boy grew older and the tree was often alone.
Then one day the boy came to the tree and the tree said, "Come, Boy, come and climb up my trunk and swing from my branches and eat apples and play in my shade and be happy."
"I am too big to climb and play," said the boy. "I want to buy things and have fun. I want some money. Can you give me some money?" "I'm sorry," said the tree, "but I have no money. I have only leaves and apples. Take my apples, Boy, and sell them in the city. Then you will have money and you will be happy."
And so the boy climbed up the tree and gathered her apples and carried them away.
And the tree was happy.
But the boy stayed away for a long time...
and the tree was sad.
And then one day the boy came back and the tree shook with joy and she said,"Come, Boy, climb up my trunk and swing from my branches and be happy."
"I am too busy to climb trees," said the boy. "I want a house to keep me warm," he said. "I want a wife and I want children and so I need a house. Can you give me a house?"
"I have no house," said the tree. "The forest is my house, but you may cut off my branches and build a house. Then you will be happy."
And so the boy cut off her branches and carried them away to build his house.
And the tree was happy. But the boy stayed away for a long time.
And when he came back, the tree was so happy she could hardly speak.
"Come, Boy," she whispered, "come and play."
"I am too old and sad to play," said the boy. "I want a boat that will take me far away from here. Can you give me a boat?"
"Cut down my trunk and make a boat," said the tree. "Then you can sail away...
...and be happy."
And so the boy cut down her trunk and made a boat and sailed away.
And the tree was happy...but not really. And after a long time the boy came back again.
"I am sorry, Boy," said the tree, "but I have nothing left to give you-- My apples are gone."
"My teeth are too weak for apples," said the boy.
"My branches are gone," said the tree. "You cannot swing on them."
"I am too old to swing on branches," said the boy.
"My trunk is gone," said the tree. "You cannot climb."
"I am too tired to climb," said the boy.
"I wish that I could give you something...
but I have nothing left. " said the tree, " I am just an old stump. I am sorry..."
"I don't need very much now," said the boy, "just a quiet place to sit and rest. I am very tired."
"Well," said the tree, straightening herself up as much as she could, "well, an old stump is good for sitting and resting. Come, Boy, sit down. Sit down and rest."
And the boy did.
And the tree was happy. The tree is like our parents, selfless and giving... always sacrificing themselves just to make us happy. And we children take their happiness for granted and never once stopped to realise how much it will really mean to them for us to appreciate them. And ultimately, no matter what kind of problems you experience outside, how helpless you are feeling, there is no one like your parents who will always be there for you, and no one else, not friends, and maybe not even your partner, will be as self-sacrificing as your parents, who will always be there for you no matter what happens.
Goodness me... I tink there's sumthing realli wrong with mi. It's 3am plus now, and here I am, writing abt such things, and as I write I'm all teary. I need help... I'm evolving into some weirdo!!!

Wow... din expect this reaction abt my new blogskin. I thought it was realli nice when I changed it, but I din expect all my frenz to tink it's DAMN nice! Ok... so proud of myself... it's not easy changing blogskins... so troublesome, gotta change all the nitty-gritties. Anw in case any of u thought the cover page para is alr there when I downloaded the skin, it's not! It was something else and I changed the whole chunk myself... so proud of myself *pats*. But it's not completely true la... I dun follow my heart all the time... haha. It takes alot of courage to actually choose to follow your heart sometimes, especially your mind tells you someting else.
Anw, packing my luggage now, and for those frenz thinking I'm leaving tmr, nope... I'm leaving on Wed morn, but gotta start packing cos my whole family are busy packing and my dad made me start packing too. I hate packing luggages... and most of the time I'll always forget to bring something.
Had been quite eager to leave S'pore to go overseas asap for holiday... but recently realised I'll be missing out on quite alot in this 2 weeks. 4 YCF Bollywood Dance practices and 2 singing performing classes... my shop will be frozen, no one to tend to it, no new updates, no one to process transactions. And the biggest of all, my brother will not be gg with us! He had to stay in S'pore alone to study for his mid-year exam! JC sux! It wun be the same without my brother with us! There won't be anyone for mi to complain to, there won't be anyone to plan mean plans to ambush my auntie, and there won't be anyone to be my camera man!!! Usually I just have to pass him the camera and say, "Help me take me like that, or sitting there, or with that mountain or statue" etc etc. My sis have to see mood one... if she dun feel lyk it den I'll have to try to take myself! AAARGH!
Damn I stink... my house is so hot and humid, and walking in and out of my room to the living room packing stuff is so hot!!! I can feel the perspiration flow down my body under my t-shirt. GROSS! And I'm so bloody hot!!! I need a shower!!!

English Translation:
The many advantages of being a single woman:
1. You don not have to starve or go on a diet for anyone
2. You do not have to hide or distort the truth to your bf when you've bought yourself expensive clothes
3. You do not have to feel guilty when flirting with other guys
4. You do not have to make up a story for anyone if you come home late
5. You do not have to tolerate his mother and sisters
6. When you are driving, there will not be someone sitting beside you trying to direct you and correct your way of driving
7. After you bought a new bag, there will not be someone to point at that bag and say, "Didn't you buy a new bag just the other day?"
8. There will not be someone who'll tell you that the top you're happily wearing, is not nice
Ok... I hope my translation is not TOO bad la... and I didn't translate those not related to pple our age... Anw, came across this when surfing the pages that day... by my favourite chinese author... used to be la, until I'd grown out of her books. Borrowed one of her books which is the only one I haven read out of her entire collection... read halfway and closed the book, saying "wad a stupid book!" And made my sis throw it into library return point for me... yucks.
Yea, I'd really grown out of nice romantic stories. This one that I read only half of it and returned, is about this girl who kena some eye disease, then her vision will become blurred sometimes and one day she will even lose her sense of sight... and there's no cure for it. This guy met her in campus and fell in love with her (wad crap!). But she used all methods to make him give up cos she knew of her condition and dun wan him to be involved. But despite finding out abt her condition he still stuck by her and promised that he'll be her eyes for life. And then I couldn't take it and asked my sis to help mi return the book. I used to be such a great fan of her books... well that was in sec sch...when love is all romance, great sacrifices and true love. -CRAP-
