The Never-Ending Debate... again...Just finished lunch with 2 of my elang mates, Rion & Karina... interesting debate again... of course, with the guy of course. Well he actually din wan to reveal his "love life" cos I may tell someone else, but I said of cos not, cos I dun even noe any of his frens. (See... this is why I say guys are so easy to trick... I said I wun tell anyone else, I never say I wun write it on my blog wad... hahaha)
Anw we were on the topic on uni guys and girls... well actually I told him if I din noe him as a fren I would term him as another jerk, since he changed gf quite fast. Imagine, last sem when we first got into the same grp he was with this girl, now is another one. He argued that sometimes it cant be helped that 2 people would fall quickly and strongly in love. And I said I dun believe in that kinda thing cos I believe that a r/s needs a very strong base to work out, and that strong base comes from being frens (purely frens) for some time before getting together. (Thank goodness the other elang fren, Karina, agrees with me on that!)
Rion then argues that u gotta think it in another way, about uni guys will only try to get to noe a girl better if he actually is "interested" in her. (Note that I used " " for "interested", cos I simply cant believe anyone can be interested in someone at first sight. At most, u just like her for how she looks, but as a person... how much do you actually know about her to think that you're interested in her?) Anyway, he said that their mentality is that, if I dun try to get to know this girl better, wad if I'm actually missing out on a potential r/s? Oh so now I know why issit that uni guys are behaving like that... they think that each girl that catches their eye is a potential r/s. He says that if I continue discriminating against guys, he will be worried for me being left on the shelf.
Ok I agree that I'm being a bit overly discriminating against guys... but bo pian la... see my previous post I already confessed that I need therapy. But I still cant see things in his point of view. It just doesn't make sense to like someone without knowing him/her well enough as a fren. I've examples to back it up! Just last nite a fren was telling me about her r/s prob... she's having a steady r/s with her bf now, but somehow she is still v disturbed whenever her ex bf talks to her abt this current girl he is interested in now. This is really weird cos obviously her current r/s is so much smoother than the previous one, where most of it is quarrels and her bf being over-possessive and controlling. And she says maybe it's cos they actually had ups and downs in her previous r/s that makes it memorable. The current one is so smooth and stable it gets kinda boring? (Hey dearie correct me if I'm wrong k? Cant really rem the exact word-for-word conversation we had) I told her that maybe it's cos her previous r/s is her first r/s, and most importantly, cos she started off as pure frens with her ex for some time before they got together. With her current bf, it's a "I see you, I like you, I chase you" thingy... after a few weeks den get tog alr.
Ah Har! The Rion actually admitted that his most memorable and comfortable r/s was the one he started off as frens with the girl. SEE! I win again! I find that in uni, people are really rushing into getting a r/s, almost as if I gotta find a gf/bf by the time I graduate frm uni... so every chance that comes along, I grab... (and hope for the best). That's quite sad actually... bleah. Anw hope that he can work out with this girl lor... and to Karina, we shall continue to wait for the right one! It's hard... but I believe he will appear, someday, sometime.
